Weather/Climate in Tokyo
Tokyo lies in the Humid subtropical climate zone, with hot humid summers and mild to cool winters. Its location on the coast of the Pacific Ocean affords Tokyo a milder climate than other cities worldwide at similar latitude. Annual rainfall averages 138cm, with a wetter summer and a drier winter. Snowfall is sporadic, but does occur annually.
Tokyo has four distinct seasons, similar to New York. The summer months (June, July and August) are hot and sticky while winter can be freezing. Tokyo is best visited in spring or autumn.
